The U.S. and China have agreed on reciprocal tariff reductions covering approximately $30 billion of imports from each side.

More than 90% of the products covered by the arrangement are expected to have the additional reciprocal tariffs removed and return to MFN tariff treatment, subject to each country’s domestic procedures.

For U.S. importers, the covered Chinese products include categories such as:

  • Toys
  • Household appliances
  • Kitchen & bathroom products
  • Baby products
  • Holiday & decorative products

For importers, this could change the landed cost calculation for affected products.

  • Lower duties can potentially mean:
  • Better margins
  • More competitive pricing
  • More room for larger orders
  • New opportunities for China sourcing

But the key point is: not every Chinese product is covered. Importers should check the exact HTS classification and applicable tariff treatment before making purchasing decisions.

If you’re importing from China to the U.S., don’t look at freight cost alone.

Calculate the full landed cost: Product + Duty + Freight + Customs + Delivery.
